Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By using www.themilevault.com or the MileVault mobile applications (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

MileVault provides tools to record, verify, classify, and report vehicle mileage. MileVault is not a tax, legal, or accounting advisor. Reports, calculators, and educational content are provided to help you keep records; you are responsible for the accuracy of your records and for how you use them on any tax return. Consult a qualified tax professional.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. The Shared plan permits two (2) named users; each user's trips are recorded separately.

4. Subscriptions, trials, and billing

• All plans include a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial ends.
• Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are governed by their terms. Billing, renewal, and cancellation are managed in your store account settings.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price for your plan (Solo Monthly $9.99/month, Solo Annual $39.99/year, Shared $59.99/year) unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of your trip data and reports. You grant MileVault a limited license to store and process that data solely to provide the Service to you.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by submitting false records, attempting to access other users' data, reverse-engineering the app, or interfering with its operation.

7. Accuracy and limitations

GPS, device sensors, and network conditions affect recorded distances. Gap detection identifies potential missing trips and cannot guarantee that every trip is captured or that every flag is a real omission. Reconstructed trips are marked as such and you are responsible for their accuracy.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that any deduction will be accepted by any tax authority.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MileVault's total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including tax penalties or lost deductions.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may export your data before closing your account.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
